Job Summary:

Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties. #CB1

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as Maintenance Machine Repairer and Maintenance Tool Maker, to diagnose malfunction.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as controllers, AC/DC drives, and analog and digital panel indicators.
  • Replaces electric motor bearings.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain thermocouples, related instrumentation, and wiring.
  • Pushes buttons and presses keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
  • Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Support and assist on the repair and maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.

Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Manage Microsoft Office
  • Maintenance Planning programs/SAP knowledge

Education and/or Experience:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four to six years related experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
  • ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 experience preferred.
  • Experience with hydraulics, process improvements, (design, fabricate and install), milling, machining, pipe fitting and basic electrical.

Certificates or licenses:
  • Forklift Operator License.
  • Hazardous Material Handling.
  • Medically certified to wear a respirator.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
  • Frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Occasionally exposure to high precarious places and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • While on duty, Protective Equipment provided for this position must be used.
