Job Purpose

Come join the AkzoNobel Commercial Marketing Team supporting the Powder Coatings Business Unit in Reading, PA!

The Marketing Project Manager, NA manages projects which focus on transformational initiatives leading to business process improvement, new business models/processes, and deployment of the business strategy in support of execution of BU Growth and Delivery initiative. S/he owns the whole project scope of a business workstream and is responsible for successful delivery, in conjunction with other functions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee and/or lead the development of new business process, or review of improvement business process, to contribute to the ultimately business growth for the North America powder coatings business.
  • For the immediate near term, the project manager is expected to oversee the implementation of CNBS project across all functions of the business in the North America region, including training and refreshing of CNBS process as needed. The Project Manager is expected to be the super user of CRM system, and to ensure team utilization of CRM in day to day business process.
  • Drives customer need understanding, value proposition development and business model definition and execution, "deliver winning concepts"
  • Manages LEVERAGE programs between the various segments
  • Executes the seeding, development and operations of new business Model until transfer to the business
  • Use and contributes to the "new idea management" (NIM) process
  • Work closely together with various discipline segment managers, product managers, sales to ensure all initiatives land well within the organization
  • Effectively support marketing team on new product launch, and actively interact with R&D, supply chain, commercial and demand & planning teams to support new product launch as needed.
  • Building and managing relationships with functional stakeholders within R&D, Commercial, Marketing, and Supply Chain.
  • Manages the prioritization of the workload via predefined processes in accordance with business needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or higher in chemistry or business.
  • 5 year's experience in marketing or commercial setting.
  • 2+ years of experience in the chemical industry / manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2-4 year's experience in project management or successful record in leading and managing projects with complex scope and scale. Project Management certification is highly valued.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, results-oriented, and ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary programs and teams, from start to implementation and delivering results with minimum supervision.
  • Showcase organizational acumen, solid interpersonal and influencing ability
  • Analytical with good financial acumen, good skill working with excel spreadsheet, pivot (medium to high level complexity), good presentation and communication skills
  • Adaptive communication style to different levels of the organization, from technical to commercial and/or to Director
  • Ability to deal with and work in environment with high level of ambiguity
  • Capability of integration in an international/multi-cultural environment
  • Problem solving approach and ability to inspire others on a transformational journey
