SUMMARY

Learn and Train on different processes and programs in the Tool and Die shop.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Set up various shop tools, presses and grinding machines to support manufacturing, including CNC machines, mills, lathes and grinders.
* Read blueprints and complicated schematics in order to manufacture new fixtures, tools, and machine parts.
* Carefully inspect these items for any signs of imperfection or damage that may affect their functionality.
* Verify dimensions of finished parts to ensure they conform to specifications using dial indicators, gauge blocks, calipers and micrometers
* Utilize hand and machine tools to assemble parts of tools and dies and to repair and modify gauges, jigs and dies
* Interface with external and internal customers, handle supplier and customer concerns, and work with team members to solve problems during the production process
* Assist senior Tool & Die makers when needed to expedite work.
* Training on other Tool and Die equipment
* Follow all Shop Safety protocols

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Carlisle Interconnect Technologies is a clean facility, housing different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

* ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toed shoes
* Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses
* Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Must be involved in a 2-year associate program related to a Machinist program.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

* Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

* Soldering Certification, must be completed within 90 days of hire

* Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions, read blueprints, drawings, and schematics
