Job Summary

The Manager Systems Operations oversees and maintains the continued operations of a multi data center environment, including managing and leading the System Engineering and System Infrastructure teams, hardware procurement and placement, environmental concerns, operating system support, technical project and resource management, capacity planning, budget projections, vendor management, and the resolution of other technical issues as they arise. The Systems Engineering teams are considered the technical owners for servers and storage of nearly all the applications that are delivered to the health system's end users.

The manager:

  • plays a key role in ensuring that all production processing environments remain stable and current.
  • delegates tasks and assumes responsibility for the outcomes of self and others.
  • serves as a partner to build, grow, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across health system departments.
  • is responsible for change management and planning IT services in conjunction with departmental leadership to ensure that systems and services meet business and operational needs.
  • maintains a sufficient number of qualified personnel while playing a major role in talent management and compensation recommendations for the teams.
  • develops, distributes, supports, enforces, and integrates best practices and technology standards across the organization.

Education Requirements
  • 4 year Bachelor's Degree or combination of relevant education & experience
Experience
  • Relevant IT experience in a complex, 24/7/365 environment is required. Ideal candidates should be technically astute with a strong understanding of data centers, storage, and cloud migration.
