POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for managing subject matter experts (SME) on Fortna's Technical Support Team and will manage, assist and support existing Customers with Controls issues and may also assist with new project builds and deployments. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: • Managing day to day responsibilities of all the Controls SMEs in the Technical Support Team • Scheduling and prioritizing resources in the SME team • Working with AEs, PMs and other teams to address customer issues • Assisting in supporting Fortna's Controls software packages to our Customers • Documenting the Controls architecture environment and procedures • Assist in creating Controls troubleshooting guides • Providing remote support and troubleshooting for new and legacy Controls systems • Assisting with root cause investigations and providing recommendations for preventative measures • Providing support for small projects, remotely and on site • Training new and current Technical Support Specialists in our Controls software packages and systems • Providing other support to investigate and troubleshoot issues • Collaborating with other team members to foster a team atmosphere • Managing support cases in Salesforce.com • Maintaining operational, configuration, or other procedures • Performing periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning. • Performing ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required • Maintaining data center environmental and monitoring equipment • Writing, revising and verifying process and test procedures • Developing detailed testing, deployment and back-out plans REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field or equivalent work experience • Intimate knowledge of Fortna Controls software packages; FRC and FortnaPlus • Extensive knowledge of conveyor systems and the components of those systems • Ability to keep up with technology trends and emerging best practices to consistently evolve current solutions • Strong aptitude to pick up new tasks and learn new technology quickly • Ability to research and quickly become an expert on Controls issues • Ability to work in a high-paced, highly dynamic environment • Ability to work a flexible schedule and outside of normal business hours • Ability to perform essential functions of the job • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills Client Support Infrastructure Specialist Client Support Infrastructure Specialist 20210617 2 of 2 • Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 5-10% of the time DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience delivering conveyor systems • VMware experience • QNX and TwinCat experience • Experience with Fortna's Level 2 software • Salesforce.com experience WORKING CONDITIONS: When duties are performed in a typical office environment, extended periods of sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen will be required. Also required is the ability to talk and hear, in person and by telephone; use of hands to handle, feel, or operate standard office equipment; and ability to reach with hands and arms. Associates are frequently required to walk and stand. The noise level in this work environment is usually quiet. When travelling to Customer sites, essential requirements of this position may require physical presence in various environments and locations. Physical stamina may be required for prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and/or working in cramped quarters. Exposure to potentially dangerous tools and equipment amidst a variety of building materials is probable, as is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can vary from being relatively quiet, to moderate, to excessive. Safety shoes or boots may be required in certain situations. Additional safety clothing including gloves, hardhats, and devices to protect eyes, mouth, or hearing, will be worn as necessary. This position description should not be considered all-inclusive.
