The Department of Medical Student Education has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Manager, Programs to work in Miami, FL. The Manger, Programs provides general oversight of the day-to-day operations of the program. The manager, programs oversees and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the assigned University programs in accordance with the institution's academic and strategic missions. The incumbent operates with the goal of delivering high quality programs to the University faculty and staff and other key stakeholders. Furthermore, the manager, programs provides guidance and mentorship to program staff to encourage talent development.

  • Plans, implements, evaluates, and monitors organization-wide development programs.
  • Implements project plans related to the delivery of new and on-going professional development programs.
  • Works with internal stakeholders so that the program runs efficient and effectively.
  • Evaluates and measures the effectiveness of assigned programs. Ensures that operations are managed within authorized budgets.
  • Collects, manages, and reports program data.
  • Develops and cultivates relationships and partnerships with various external entities and organizations to further department functions.
  • Recruits, supervises, evaluates, and disciplines department staff to ensure optimum performance.
  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.
  • Assist the MAP Course Directors to develop and implement the strategic plan for all aspects of the MAP curriculum across all 3 phases.
  • Supervise, train, evaluate, and support the Senior Program Coordinator.
  • Ensure that the Senior Program Coordinator effectively completes their assigned tasks and responsibilities, and provide training, guidance, and support as needed.
  • Ultimately responsible for planning, coordination, and implementation of all the curricular and assessment components of all the MAP courses, working collaboratively with the Senior Program Coordinator.
  • Forecast financial requirements, prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Responsible of the design, function, and maintenance of the different learning platforms and dashboard(ePortfolio), working collaboratively with the Senior Program Coordinator and the dashboard team.
  • Provide support to the Dashboard (ePortfolio) team in designing and implementing the Dashboard.
  • Develop improvement processes and leverage technology to optimize the efficiency of the program's offerings, including learning platforms, communications, scheduling, and curriculum implementation.
  • Develop systems to collect, analyze, and report formative feedback to students across various curriculum management systems (LCE evaluation of students, student peer evaluations, standardized Patient evaluations of students, 1:1 check-in documentation, bedside write-ups, etc.).
  • Develop systems to collect, analyze, and report data regarding LCE, course directors, and course evaluations enable continuous quality improvement (CQI) of the MAP Courses.
  • Assist with LCE faculty development, including training on the various curriculum management systems, maintaining the Blackboard LCE Organization page, tracking attendance to Faculty Development meetings, etc.
  • Arrange substitute coverage for LCEs when absent.
  • Attend and participate in weekly meetings with the MAP leadership team and monthly meetings for LCE Faculty Development.
  • Provide oversight for MAP exams, including set up, administration, and analysis of results.
  • Provide oversight of Senior Program Coordinator with regards to recording and notification of grades on a timely manner.
  • Work with course directors to develop, track, and submit student progress reports to LACE committee.
  • Collaborate with Phase 1, 2, and 3 course directors, program managers, and program coordinators to implement MAP course design integration with other courses.
  • Collaborate with Phase 1, 2, and 3 course directors, program managers/coordinators, and the medical education administration on the design and preparation of the NextGenMD program and its activities.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships and partnerships with various entities to optimize functions.
  • Develop and implement project management for new MAP curriculum initiatives.
  • Update MAP Manager and Senior Program Coordinator Operations Guide.
  • Provide School- and Education-related Administrative Assistant support to Course Directors (non-clinical support).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
