Manager - OmniChannel Investigations:

Summary

The Manager of OmniChannel Investigations is responsible for driving improvement in reduction of company losses through analyses, research, investigations, and data mining. Leader is also responsible for overseeing tools, processes, and investigations that provide actionable information to the Loss Prevention department to effectively reduce theft, fraud, inventory losses, and major incidents. Associates in this position may interact with a supervisor as needed. Most activities are completed without a supervisor's advance approval.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop strategies and manage financially impactful omnichannel and corporate investigations processes.
  • Enhance current LP Department investigation standards, processes, training, and data mining to meet the needs of the LP Department and organization.
  • Lead investigation projects: review and understand shrink, returns and financial data; identify effective omnichannel and investigation trends in the retail industry; and understand key operational and merchandising processes within the stores.
  • Help reduce fraud and inventory losses at local, regional, and global levels, and make recommendations to support the LP Department's strategic goals. Conduct collaborative research efforts into high shrink markets and categories to identify potential theft or fraud.
  • Reduce company fraud and inventory losses by leading data mining activities using available tools and internal data (Sherlock, ThinkLP, Accertify, Microsoft BI, Cognos, Inventory reporting, etc.).
  • Act as a liaison between Corporate Loss Prevention, HR, and Field LP and Operation leadership regarding Corporate Investigation programs. Provide conclusions and recommendations in areas where systemic breakdowns were discovered during investigations.
  • Develop Corporate Investigation communications and coordinate effective strategies to impact external theft and major incidents. Assist with coordination and enhancement of vital Law Enforcement partnerships.
  • Drive standardization and consistency of internal and external investigations. Provide appropriate training relating to internal and external investigations and documentation.
  • Conduct internal interviews on large scale investigations, working in partnership with local Loss Prevention and District Managers.
  • Participate in regular calls with LP Department leadership to gauge effectiveness of investigations and to ensure synergies and consistency in delivery of national investigations. Provide regular and actionable business intelligence to key stakeholders.
  • Provide expertise in investigation, data analytics, and omnichannel technology. Identify emerging investigative tools and industry innovation. Work with vendors and appropriate departments to manage deployment and implementation of tools designed to enhance the range, depth and speed of LP Department investigations.
  • Work cross-functionally (e.g., Operations, HR, Legal, IT) to ensure corporate investigation compliance with all laws, regulations and company policies and procedures.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor's degree in loss prevention, criminal justice or related field from an accredited program required
  • At least 5 years of related loss prevention experience required - experience in a multi-unit retail environment preferred
  • Ability to travel unaccompanied up to 80% domestically, including overnight stays
  • Ability to move unassisted through stores for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours/day)
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects and displays (up to 30 lbs.), bend, stoop, reach with arms and hands, and climb on ladders
  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays during peak seasons and for special projects
  • Successful completion of Wicklander-Zulawski interrogation training required. Expert understanding of retail-based loss prevention industry trends and best practices
  • Proficient understanding of Accertify OV management system
  • Proficient knowledge of CCTV/CCD systems and applications
  • Proficient understanding of building security and other alarm technologies
  • Proficient understanding of applicable POS technologies, especially tracking capabilities
  • Expert understanding of GME operating policies
  • Expert knowledge of internal investigation process methodology
  • Expert ability to conduct effective integrity interviews
  • Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written English
  • Expert relationship building skills, including the capacity to predict and manage behavior, build and leverage cross-functional partnerships within and outside of the organization, and leverage influential leadership
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office programs; specifically, Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Demonstrated capacity for gathering/scrutinizing data to identify issues, opportunities, patterns, and sustainable business solutions
  • Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
