Cedar Fair is seeking a Category Manager, Food & Beverage at the Charlotte, NC corporate office. Category Managers in the Procurement function will support the broader objective of managing the company’s $800M+ external spend of goods & services.  Specifically, they will help support spend management leadership for select business-critical categories. In this role, they will support overall category strategy and management, as well as all relevant supplier relationships, and may be responsible for the same for specific sub-categories.  They will interface with park operations and corporate functions to support top-line and bottom-line objectives of the company.  The Food & Beverage Category Manager will support strategic sourcing of $100M+ of F&B category spend, help negotiate and manage supply arrangements, and support assortment innovation and menu planning. 


How You'll Make A Difference:

  • Help Category Director develop and execute a 3-5-year category strategy for Food & Beverage expenditures that appropriately reflects the supply market and helps fulfill company long-term objectives:

-Assess internal demand and usage patterns for assigned sub-categories, and identify opportunities for improvement

- Complete supply market profile for sub-categories

- Help manage category supplier relationships and performance

  • Execute category strategic sourcing events, including leading development of RFx documents, pricing and bid sheets, supplier proposal response analysis, supplier negotiations, award decisions, and contracting
  • Lead sourcing implementation and supplier transitions to enforce CF Procurement standards, policies and processes
  • Lead category-related activities on the development of common taxonomy, policies and processes, KPIs, and implementation and maintenance of relevant systems
  • Team with Corporate Food & Beverage to support menu planning and assortment activities, including new product innovation and development. Similarly, support other park and functional stakeholders on relevant F&B procurement needs
  • Advocate and lead the continued development of Cedar Fair’s Procurement function, including measurement and tracking of benefits, compliance monitoring, and management report-outs. Champion the professional development of other Procurement team members
  • Other duties as assigned

We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4-6 years of procurement experience. Familiarity with F&B supply markets and major industry players.  Strong quantitative aptitude, problem solving, and critical reasoning skills
  • Working experience in the F&B industry. MS Excel and PowerPoint proficiency preferred
