The Manager, Content Strategy and Production will work within the PayPal Global Creative Strategy & Production team, which is part of the Corporate Affairs, team to innovate the ways in which we engage in the digital era and build creative content campaigns that elevate PayPal's brand for our two-sided network. The Manager, Content Strategy and Production will work within the PayPal Global Creative Strategy & Production team, which is part of the Corporate Affairs, team to innovate the ways in which we engage in the digital era and build creative content campaigns that elevate PayPal's brand for our two-sided network. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Creative Strategy & Production and based in our Austin or Chicago office, this candidate will help lead brand campaigns that tell our global company narrative through storytelling to our target audiences. This role is considered an expert on content strategy, planning and production and will work cross-functionally with our Global Creative Strategy & Production team. The Manager, Content Strategy and Production will also work to help socialize employee and corporate stories externally with local communication leads.

What You'll Do:

  • Working in tandem with Global Product & Partnership Communications, be responsible for helping the team develop content that works with communications strategies to solve for product narratives for an array of different objectives, including driving awareness, as well as improving comprehension and consideration.
  • Lead creation and delivery of compelling, original, strategy-led executive-level content for internal and external audiences and act as a primary liaison to relevant Comms, Marketing and Business Unit leaders on behalf of the broader Corporate Affairs function.
  • Partnering with the Global Creative Strategy & Production team, show, not tell our company narrative, bring products to market, merchant and consumer storytelling, and share stories of our culture at PayPal.
  • Liaison with talent spanning external business leaders, to internal colleagues, ensuring a positive experience and reflection on the PayPal brand at every turn.
  • Develop ideas that will work across all channels: Earned (traditional earned media), Owned (newsroom, web, collateral), Paid (primarily opt-in placements and influencers) and Shared (social media channels).
  • Leverage all channels to define the content roadmap:
    • The content journey for the target audience
    • The content needed for every phase of the journey
    • The optimal channels for the content
    • The global applicability of the content
  • Look for and find ways to connect content to our PayPal Newsroom with announcements and company thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Social Media team and Marketing on content amplification, ensuring broader alignment and a "one team" approach.
  • Manage and ensure the content strategy is effectively executed through agency partners and internal teams and resources, pushing for best-in-class follow through and results.
  • Proactively take the lead with team members to ensure final assets consistently answer the brief in terms of audience and brand requirements.
  • Manage internal and external production resources in the administration of documentation needed to complete respective creative projects (POs, invoicing, release forms, etc).
  • Partner with Legal, Communications colleagues and internal subject matter experts to ensure that the storytelling is approved and on message.
  • Work closely with the PayPal Content Marketing teams on strategies and initiatives to ensure all our work is aligned.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing input and opinion into the future direction of the editorial and storytelling part of our business and taking on actions and tasks as required to help the business achieve its future objectives

Pre-Requisite Skills:

  • 10+ years of editorial marketing and/or Public Relations agency/ content development experience
  • Knowledge of the digital payments/technology landscape
  • Background in editorial planning
  • Strong aptitude for project management, keeping projects on time and on task
  • Deep experience creating content for major brands
  • Experience with social media and/or digital media marketing campaigns and strong understanding of channel behavior across all platforms
    • Working with agency partner or agency experience
    • Highly collaborative and comfortable networking with internal stakeholders, as well as external influencers such as journalists
    • Entrepreneurial mindset - thinks creatively and outside the box
    • Excellent written and verbal communicator, with a strong attention to detail
    • Bachelor's degree required - graduate degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business administration or related field preferred
