Maintenance Technician

Huntsman's Advanced Materials Division is now searching for a Maintenance Technician for our plant located in Harrison City, PA.

As the Maintenance Technician, you will:

• Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Perform all preventative maintenance duties to equipment.
• Continually monitor machinery and make necessary adjustment(s) to ensure proper operation.
• Repair and possible fabrication of equipment and parts.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA standards.
• Regular use of heavy industrial shop tools and equipment.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with co-workers and management.
• Capital project support when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Perform RCRA Duties, including:

• Responsible for maintaining satellite accumulation area compliant with site waste management procedure.
• Ensure satellite container is properly label and managed in compliance with site waste management procedure by performing documented routine inspections of satellite accumulation container and area. Ensure deficiencies are promptly corrected.
• Arrange prompt transfer of full container to RCRA room.
• General awareness of waste management program and waste minimizations plan.
• General awareness of RCRA Contingency Plan, including response to alarms, excavation routes, and muster points.
• Report HW releases following incident reporting procedure.
• Handle and managed universal waste (UW) as prescribed by the waste management procedure.
• Coordinated with EHSQ manager to arrange prompt disposal of UW at a company-approved waste disposal facility.

Skills and experiences required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be extremely safety oriented.
• Effective written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are critical.
• Must be willing to work within a Maintenance Work Order Process and help resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.
• Ability and willingness to work call-ins and scheduled maintenance overtime to meet the needs of business; Including being able to stay for needed maintenance work with very short notice in unforeseen circumstances.
• Must demonstrate ability to trouble-shoot and analyze causes of equipment failures and recommend solutions to problems.
• Self-motivated & able to work independently.
• Previous experience working in a chemical plant or similar e of but not limited to numerous styles of pumps, valves, agitators, regulators, etc. with pipe fitting/threading, electrical and welding experience

Working Conditions:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed regularly to outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to elevated places.
• The ability to work safely with chemicals is also a requirement.
• Lifting up to 90 lbs., frequent standing, standing and twisting, walking, climbing stair and ladders, pushing/pulling, overhead and horizontal reaching, bending, squatting, kneeling, grasping, forceful gripping/pinching.
