Summary: Under supervision of the Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing mechanical activities and work associated with maintaining the facility and site operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots systems and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of malfunction.
  • Performs preventative maintenance work such as roll changes, lubrication, replacement of belts and bearings to maintain equipment reliability.
  • Dismantle and assemble machines and perform repairs with the use of power and hand tools. Rebuilds pumps, annealing furnaces and other equipment.
  • Performs tasks such as welding, machining using manual lathe/mill, wood carpentry and metal fabrication. Ability to use precise measuring devices such as calipers, dial indicators and tape measures.
  • Repair and install water, steam, gas or other type of pipe and fittings.

Requirements:
  • Education Required: High School Diploma
  • Education Preferred: Graduate of a recognized Millwright/Mechanic trade school/program with subjects that include blueprint reading, machining, fabrication, rigging, and welding.
  • Experience Required: 3-5 years on the job experience as a millwright/mechanic within an industrial/chemical/pharmaceutical setting.
  • Experience Preferred: 7+ years on the job experience as a millwright/mechanic within an industrial/chemical setting. Prefer candidates with experience in heavy industrial, pharmaceutical, or chemical facilities.
