Huntsman's Performance Products Division is now searching for a new Maintenance Manager to direct the activities of the plant Maintenance department to provide an environmentally sound, safe, healthy and profitable work environment for the Freeport Plant employees, as well as the neighboring communities. The position has the principal purpose and responsibility for the physical maintenance and inspection activities within the Freeport facility. In addition, the position has the responsibility for the direction of planning and scheduling of maintenance activities. This role is an active, full time member of the team located in Freeport, Texas.

As the Maintenance Manager you will:

  • As a member of the plant managerial staff, is responsible to the Plant Manager for administration, planning, coordination, and implementation of Maintenance activities including Maintenance T&I
  • Directs, coordinates, and monitors the effectiveness and efficient use of resources and all plant activities in the areas of maintenance, equipment inspections, and T&I.
  • Establishes and communicates the importance of requirements and expectations for Maintenance personnel, evaluates performance, coaches, and develops personnel reporting to this position
  • Act as contract administrator over the various maintenance contracts.
  • Monitors and ensures the appropriate level of quality, safety, and excellence systems engagement within the Maintenance team.
  • Monitors and ensures the quality of day to day Inspection, Maintenance, Contract Maintenance, and Turnaround and Inspection planning and execution.
  • Leads the development of contracts and rental agreements for work performed within the Maintenance team including inspection related contracts.
  • Directs, coordinates and responsible for the preparation of the annual Maintenance expenditure budget and the reporting of Maintenance expenditures to appropriate management and ensuring accurate tracking and maintenance of the expense budget
  • Acts as a senior engineering advisor to the plant, including advising new engineers, presenting engineering viewpoint to management, and improving overall plant engineering practices and standards.
  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Assists other employees in accomplishments of Huntsman company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company-required training programs.

Skills and experiences required:
  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Instrument/Electrical Engineering with 10+ years experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience required, preferably in a maintenance organization.
  • Previous experience working in a maintenance organization is preferred.
