Mail Center Receiving Clerk
Job Summary:The Mail Center Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving and delivering packages shipped to the college through the Mail Center in a high volume, high traffic environment. This position provides accurate distribution and shipment of more than 70,000 parcels annually. The Mail Center Receiving Clerk examines all shipments delivered to the Mail Center to determine quantities and conditions of items received and notes all damages and/or discrepancies. The Mail Center Receiving Clerk has the responsibility of receiving Hazardous Materials for the Science and Research Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Have a general knowledge of United Postal Service, United Parcel Service, FedEx, and DHL/Airborne procedures and guidelines
Valid Georgia Driver's License Required
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, use hands to move postal items, talk, hear, and lift and/or move up to 40 pounds using appropriate equipment provided by the department. The employee is frequently required to: use hands for computers and stoop. The employee is occasionally required to: sit, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
