Job Brief

Graymont is seeking a Lubrication Technician/Mechanic to ensure reliability of all plant equipment as well as design, construct, operate and maintain all lubrication systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The main responsibility is assuring reliability of the plant
  • Ownership and organization of supporting the health of plant equipment
  • Lubrication and monitoring of the lubrication systems (Oil, grease, etc.) for all plant equipment such as:
    • blowers, compressors, motors, gearboxes, fans and blowers, conveyors, other rotating equipment
    • plant filtration systems on gearboxes, HVAC systems, etc.
  • Design, construct, operate, and maintain lubrication systems
  • Collaborate with off-site vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers and Graymont Maintenance, Production, and staff
  • Monitor the health and functionality of plant bearings, auto greasing and other lubrication systems
  • Assist in troubleshooting, maintenance, and root cause analysis of equipment findings as needed
  • Support Predictive Maintenance programs - oil analysis, vibration, infrared, and ultrasound to monitor plant equipment health
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Ownership of lubrication and filter inventory, tools, and equipment
  • Documentation of discrepancies or conditions that require further maintenance
  • Self-motivated and organizational skills required
  • Support other maintenance activities as needed
  • Participate in Maintenance call-outs
  • Support Graymont safety vision and values
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor and maintenance operations to ensure high priority issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all equipment is lubricated, and oils are changed according to the manufacture's standards and/or Graymont's best practices.
  • Adhere to all expectations as laid out in the Maintenance Dept. Ground Rules.
  • Utilize the JDE work order and preventative maintenance system to ensure that all work is planned, tracked and completed.
  • Use of equipment manuals, prints and schematics to identify components and replacement parts.
  • Identify parts that need ordering and provide information to purchaser
  • Cover shifts and work overtime as necessary (including callouts)
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong sense of ownership regarding plant safety and environmental compliance
  • 5 years of plant maintenance operations or equivalent education / training
  • Strong communications skills
  • Have a fundamental understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, lubrication, filtration systems, and bearings
  • Ability to prioritize, balance workload and multitask
  • Ability to work well with others and ability to work alone
  • Self-starter
  • Basic computer skills - including Internet Explorer, JDE, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must possess minimum basic tools.
