Logistics Applications Manager at Helen of Troy Nevada Corporation in Southaven, Mississippi

Overview:

Responsible for support of the Logistics Execution function (especially in the areas of Warehousing & Transportation). Oversee the implementation, optimization & support of Global Logistics Execution processes & systems. The initial focus will be on Oracle TMS (Transportation Management System) and Oracle WMS (Warehouse Management System). The scope of logistics will span Inbound logistics (RMs), Replenishment logistics, and Distribution logistics (DC's to Customers) across the globe. Rely on best practices, along with benchmarks from the industry, and work with various levels of leadership within Helen of Troy Business Units. This includes Ops leadership & Finance to align the strategies and lead the process transformation at Helen of Troy to be world class within and in support of the Logistics Execution function. As Helen of Troy continues its growth, work to improve our processes & capabilities to optimize our logistics capabilities along the dimensions of reliable delivery at an optimal cost.

Duties:


  • Work closely with the logistics & warehousing teams to perform process optimization and functional analysis for designing solutions and evaluating options that include, but are not limited to new program development, configuration of existing systems, business process redesign, new package/system evaluation or a combination of these options.

  • Understand enough about each option to evaluate multiple options and recommend the best course of action based on requirements coverage and effort required.

  • Develop expertise with the transportation management system (TMS) and warehouse management system (WMS).

  • Serve as a point person between Logistics Execution & IT for addressing issues and enhancements related to the specific product and functional area.

  • Work closely with business users to determine business requirements and translate them to system requirements.

  • Develop and deliver detailed business functional design requirements and specifications for the system per project requirements.

  • Perform hands-on system and software configurations to enable business system functionality

  • Responsible for the functional testing of the application (development and configuration) and the support of these applications when moved to production.

  • Consider technical and performance consequences when creating design deliverables. Use light technical skills in the appropriate toolset to analyze data.

  • Train users in the logistics area as well as process/systems training.

  • Supervise 2 Sr. Systems Analysts and 1 Systems Analyst.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Logistics, or related field.

  • 7 years of experience with ERP systems. Total experience must include 5 years of experience:

    • in logistic related systems;

    • with people management;

    • with data analysis/design and systems analysis/design;

    • with design and configuration developing and implementing Oracle Shipping or Oracle SCM (Oracle Supply chain) and Oracle WMS systems;

    • in engineering or systems in an operations/distribution environment (Logistics Execution); and

    • with project management and change management.

  • Travel required - 10%.

  • Occasional telecommuting possible.
