Life Science Research Professional🔍School of Medicine, Stanford, California, United StatesNew📁Research📅14 hours ago Post Date📅102654 Requisition #Stanford University, Department of Medicine, Division of Oncology is seeking a Life Science Research Professional 1 to perform basic functions and activities involved in defined research projects, and independently conduct and analyze experiments for a research team in the Division of Oncology.The Life Science Research Professional (LSRP) will oversee operations of ongoing genomic and translational research studies as well as plan and execute molecular biology experiments in collaboration with the PI and the research team. The LSRP will support multiple projects and must manage time efficiently in doing so. In addition, the LSRP will contribute significantly to general lab maintenance through systematic organization of inventory used in translational cancer genomic research. Experiments will involve modern molecular biology techniques, next generation DNA/RNA sequencing, primary sample processing and data analysis. The LSRP will work independently under general guidance from the supervisor and must have the ability to recognize irregularities in operational and experimental results and modify protocols as needed.The work of the Division of Oncology bridges the worlds of basic science, clinical diagnosis and the treatment of cancer. Our basic investigative activities concentrate on immunology, genetics/genomics, pharmacology, DNA repair and oncogene action. Our clinical science covers each cancer type; has a strong focus in clinical trials of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, and in correlative laboratory studies. Our work is supported by a portfolio of peer-reviewed grants, industrial agreements and research endowments.Duties include:
