The University of Iowa Community Clinics is seeking a patient-centered 100% (40 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our Muscatine Family Medicine Clinic. University of Iowa Health Care's primary care clinic in Muscatine provides a convenient location for family-oriented care. Appointments are available to people of all ages and include services for routine examinations, immunizations, follow-up care, and diagnosing routine medical problems, as well as pregnancy care. The on-site pharmacy provides you with a one-stop visit.

Our team develop relationships and get to know our patients and monitor patient care history and deliver personalized, compassionate care every time to each patient. When anyone in the family needs specialty care, our family medicine provider connects you with the UI Health Care specialist you need. That specialist will consult the same medical record your family medicine provider has been keeping for you, so your specialty care is streamlined.

Our LPN's accompany the physicians or medical providers into the examination rooms in order to transcribe the clinician's and care team's encounter with the patients in real time. They accurately and thoroughly document the encounter with our patients as it is being performed by the providers, which may include documentation in the following sections: problem list, history of present illness, review of systems, physical exam, assessment and plan, procedures and treatments performed by team, patient education, orders, medications, referrals, explanations of risks and benefits, and instructions for self-care and follow-up.

Duties to include:

• Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
• In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet safety standards

Percent of Time: 100% (40 hours per week)

Schedule: Monday - Friday; variable hours accomplished between 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM; standard hours will be 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with some rotating evenings coverage until 8:00 PM. No weekends and no holidays.

Location: Muscatine, IA (occasional travel to other clinical locations within a 2 hour radius)

Pay Grade: 11 Merit Pay - The University of Iowa

Salary: $42,569.76- $63,424.96 Hourly: $20.31 - $30.26 (based on years of experience)

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit
• Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification
• Basic Cardiac Life Support provider

Special Qualifications

• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards

Desirable Qualifications

• Previous Family Medicine Clinic experience is preferred
• Previous experience in a team-orientated environment is preferred
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred
• Previous experience with computer skills and ability to navigate EMR - Epic, Word, etc.

Staff may be required to receive a passing score on work samples to be considered for this position
