Reporting to the Student Technology and Library Services Manager, the Library Technical Services Specialist provides interlibrary loan, e-resource management, and serials control services for all campus libraries.
Responsibilities
Manage interlibrary loan services through OCLC WorldShare, and related platforms ensuring adherence to relevant standards and protocols; provide statistical, financial, and evaluative interlibrary loan reports.
Collaborate with reference and technical services in the management of e-resources including activation, licensing, holdings management, authentication, link resolution, and access-related processes.
Administer print serials control services including acquisition, MARC cataloging, processing, claiming, binding; create and manage local holdings records; provide statistical, financial, and evaluative serials reports.
Assist in the administration and maintenance of discovery layer search systems.
Gather and compile resource sharing and electronic resources usage statistics for internal and external reporting, utilizing COUNTER and other industry best practices.
Train and direct library employees in utilization of interlibrary loan applications including CLIO, WorldShare Management Services, ILDS, and library catalog custom workflow reports; monitor integrity and accuracy of print, digital media, and e-resources holdings.
Collaborate on interlibrary loan, e-resource management, and serials workflow analysis to provide operational changes and documentation of procedures and policies.
Lead in the discovery, evaluation and implementation of innovative interlibrary loan and serials management services and applications.
Support students and staff with resolving network access, computer applications, and printing connectivity issues in the library.
Collaborate with the Student Technology and Library Services Manager and the Library Technology Coordinator on budget preparation and planning.
Consult with vendor technical support to resolve application issues.
Provide live chat support.
Perform duties and complete projects as assigned by the Student Technology and Library Services Manager.
Support the campus libraries.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent experience in related field required; Bachelor's degree desirable.
Minimum two years' library experience.
Experience with web-based interlibrary loan services, serials management systems, and electronic resource management processes; familiarity with OpenURL and link resolution standards.
Familiarity with office applications, moderate proficiency with Microsoft Access or other database applications and web-based applications.
Ability to work independently and establish effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
Excellent customer service skills; strong interpersonal skills.
Understanding of and commitment to the service role of the library in a learner-centered environment.
