The University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development seeks qualified applicants for the Department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education to teach and provide content expertise for programs in Applied Linguistics, Language Acquisition and English Learners. Opportunities are available both on-grounds at the University of Virginia and online.

The successful candidate will possess a PhD in Education or Doctorate in Education specializing in the English Education, English as a Second Language, Second Language Acquisition, or Linguistics area of study. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Previous preK-12 or post-secondary education teaching experience in the course content area is strongly preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: PhD or EdD required
Experience: Previous preK-12 or post-secondary education teaching experience in the course content area is strongly preferred.
Licensure: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
