Cedar Fair is seeking a Leave of Absence Administrator at the Sandusky, OH office The Leave of Absence Administrator reporting to the Manager, Corporate Human Resources, coordinates the support for all leave of absence cases. Effectively coordinates all cases/claims to include general administration, comprehensive case management and program compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act and all related employment laws. Performs exemplary customer service and assistance to associates and HR business partners.


How You'll Make A Difference:

  • Serves as the subject matter expert for Cedar Fair leave programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership and the legal department.
  • Interprets and administers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.).
  • Independently approves and/or denies leave cases based on relevant medical information.
  • Coordinates and organizes all medical information and ensures that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executed.
  • Manages all administrative aspects of leave to include tracking hours used/taken and working closely with Payroll to ensure that pay for associates is accurate and correct.
  • Tracks and invoices for missed benefit deductions
  • Works closely with associates to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review. Maintains appropriate contact with all associates on leave and coordinates with park HR return to work for associates on leave.
  • Manages STD/LTD programs and vendor relationships. Ensures that STD claims are coordinated with FMLA. Calculates and processes STD payments.
  • Partners closely with HRBPs on all related cases/claims. Meets as needed to review the status of cases/claims and develops legally sound strategies for a mutually beneficial resolution.
  • Assists in the creation and facilitation of leave administration and training programs. Documents and maintain procedures for all leave processes. Assist with compliance of applicable government regulations
  • Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce cost and increase efficiency with an emphasis on process optimization and the streamlining of tasks to minimize paper and maximize electronic interface.

We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or High School Diploma with 2-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of current ADA/ADAA and leave of absence laws, regulations and policies.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills and the ability to recognize patterns and connections in complex information; able to utilize appropriate judgment in role as an advisor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with associates at all levels.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office software products (Word/Excel), HRIS systems, and internet and website navigation required.
  • Project management and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
