The Role

The Product Owner will lead in the areas of strategic product planning, software sprint planning, competitive analysis, and thought leadership for our initiative to deliver Ethernet and IPVPN products through automation. The individual will have responsibility for defining business requirements, maintaining a prioritized product backlog, helping organize Agile software sprints alongside Engineering, and acting as a product SME to the rest of the organization.  The Product Owner will work closely with development teams from product initiation to delivery and product lifecycle management. 

The Main Responsibilities

 

  • Overall product line management responsibility for defining requirements for ethernet and IPVPN services designed and built through automation
  •   Support prioritization of requirements and capabilities.
  •   Work closely with other Lumen teams to deliver end-to-end functionality.
  •   Provide strategic leadership and tactical delivery on software sprints while collaborating with Engineering, support, operations, vendors, partners, and customers.
  •   Develop technical documentation outlining prioritized features and roadmap initiatives.
  •   Educate and inform Lumen teams about upcoming releases and roadmap.
  •   Independently resolve issues and assist the team with overcoming obstacles.

Essential Duties:

  •   Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and interest in creating new services for customers.
  •   Intake feature requests and maintain a prioritized backlog.
  •   Organize features into user stories fit for estimation during sprint planning.
  •   Provide requirements for user stories and act as a voice of the customer during software development.
  •   Support software releases and communicates the availability of newly released features.
  •   Work closely with Product Development and other Product Management teams.
  •   Understand and stay current with industry trends, open-source technologies, and cloud computing models

Required Skills

  •   BS/BA or equivalent work experience required.
  •   8+ years of related industry experience.
  •   Proven track record of achieving product release success.
  •   Excellent communication skills to include verbal, written, and presentation.
  •   Entrepreneurial drive.
  •   Energy, integrity, and strong work ethic.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
