The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary
The Lead Material Planning Analyst is responsible for scheduling, planning, and oversight of material delivery to customers.

  • This position can be located in either Champaign, IL or Morton, IL and does not provide relocation
  • Our team embraces flexibility through a hybrid work model. In addition to working onsite at one of our PSLD facilities, our hybrid work model allows employees flexibility to work from home based on business need
What You Will Do
  • Responsible for assisting with escalations and acting as first point of contact for the Material Planning Analyst team
  • Coordinating flow of materials within the manufacturing facility
  • Coordinating transfer of materials (premium freight) to and from inventory or warehouse
  • Scheduling and controlling the release of materials
  • Monitoring material inventory in the plant, in the warehouse, and by critical customers
  • Tracking and analyzing customer performance metrics
  • Collaborating and negotiating with customers to deliver materials per requirements
What You Have
  • Products and Services: Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.
  • Customer Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience, and skills into real practice.
