Position Summary:

We are currently looking for a Lead Electrical Technician to join our team at Asahi Kasei Bioprocess! The person in this role will work closely with the Assembly Technicians, Engineers and the Electrical department to plan for, execute, and troubleshoot AKB's electrical control systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in skid assembly as needed.
  • Ability to safely use saws, porta band saws, drills, air tools, right angle grinders and various polishing equipment.
  • Assist with installation of all components and for troubleshooting during the commissioning process
  • Understand PID's for the purpose of assembling of systems, valve orientation, tagging components, sloping lines, counting clamps for size and qty needed, direction of flow, locate major components and any other necessary applications needed to assemble equipment.
  • Responsible for running air and electrical lines from component parts to control cabinets but not necessarily terminate in cabinet.
  • Work with Electrical dept (Electrical, CAD, Engineering) to access needed fittings to do final installation of components like cord grips, electrical connectors, wire needed, explosion proof fittings, labels or any other things needing ordered for assembly.
  • Read electrical schematics and oversee other workers along with training other team members to read and install all components from drawings.
  • Will assist in assigning daily workload to electrical team with system assembly manager to ensure daily and weekly needs are met on skids in process and in commissioning and will report back to systems manager on progress.
  • Will evaluate red lines(corrections) on electrical drawings from other workers and present changes to engineering and elec. CAD for revisions and documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of pumps, valves, Hex, Flowmeters and other equipment on skidded systems with regard to proper working installation.
  • Special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 years of hands-on mechanical skills
  • Familiarity with commonly used tools
  • Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office skills
  • Basic math and ability to read tape measures, Scales, and Calipers to make accurate measurements on parts and frames.
  • Working understanding of Amperages and Voltages both European and domestic.
  • Familiar with routing cables from components to cabinet to maintain a clean uniform appearance and that cables will avoid damage from heat, water, or moving parts.
  • Basic assembly skills for bolting, clamping, and mounting components square and level or pitched if necessary.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
  • Lift up to 50Lbs
