Job Title: Lead Analyst - Transmission Analytics
Hiring Manager: Director - Transmission Analytics
Reporting hybrid to Orange CT, Binghamton NY, Rochester NY, Boston MA, Augusta ME

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $83,804- $109,993

This position supports Avangrid Networks' transmission businesses with a focus on corporate earnings, rate base and billings. Supports regulatory strategies that ensure optimal transmission business outcomes consistent with Federal regulatory policies, control policies and accounting principles.
Additional responsibilities of this position include interacting with and supporting the Planning & Regulatory team, the Operations teams, and the Avangrid Networks Control team on inquires and analysis.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Calculates accurate and timely transmission revenue requirements, maximizing revenues and ensuring accurate and timely rate recovery and billings. Calculates actual and forecast return on equity based upon regulated earnings, and performs assumption-driven return on equity calculations driven by Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and State regulatory actions or Company needs. 30%
2. Performs timely and accurate analysis of monthly margin and regulated earnings clearly identifying drivers from actual versus budget and versus authorized. Prepares presentations and other reports communicating results to senior management. Performs accurate assessment of transmission rate base results. Reviews and documents forecast assumptions for each rate base line item. Determines best practices for each rate base line item forecast to optimize budget and results. 30%
3. Calculates transmission billings, uploads data in SAP, and reviews accuracy of invoiced created and invoices received, responding to customer inquiries and ad hoc requests. 15%
4. Coordinates and compiles budget and quarterly revisions to budget including providing detailed budget version variance explanations. Reviews actual income statement line items versus budgets, researches and provides variance explanations and succinctly communicates results via excel, power point or similar software. 15%
5. Provide regulatory rate case support including preparation of schedules, witness support, legal briefs, and data responses. Supports the Planning and Regulatory team on USGAAP and IFRS analytic needs along with additional special projects as assigned. May provide feedback and mentoring to less experienced teammates. 10%

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Requires Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Accounting, or other related fields of study with an emphasis on critical thinking and analytic skills required. Post-graduate degree or professional license preferred.
• Requires at least five years of progressive experience preferably in the electric utility or energy industry including a minimum three years in regulatory, finance or accounting. Knowledge of and strong interest to learn the following: transmission revenues through FERC formula-based ratemaking, revenue requirements, customer rates, GAAP accounting, forecasting and budgeting, FERC and state regulatory filings and process, and business controls is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical skills to meaningfully synthesize information into insightful inputs. Strong problem-solving skills.
• Able to lead projects, provide change management and function independently. Results-driven combined with demonstrated collaboration skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Proficiencies in Microsoft Office tools, accounting and reporting systems.
• Occasional travel, as needed.
