Emerson Street for Teens and Young Adults is an innovative, strengths-based, trauma-informed outpatient setting that pairs both clinical therapeutic services and vocational rehabilitation (education and employment support). We are a multidisciplinary team that assists youth in working toward goals that support mental health and overall well-being. Emerson Street for Teens and Young Adults provides a comprehensive program that offers prevention and early intervention activities as well as clinical, therapeutic, and wraparound services.

This position will serve as the primary clinician for our Phoenix team, serving young people who are experiencing early episode psychosis. The Phoenix program is based on the RAISE model - Recovery After Initial Schizophrenia Episode and also integrates evidence-based practice based on individual needs and treatment goals. This position will coordinate closely with the team, which includes psychiatry, supported employment and education, peer support, family psychoeducation and therapy services. The role will include meeting with individuals in the office setting for weekly therapy sessions, with additional services provided in the community when additional case management support is needed.

      • Mental Health Therapist II: $27.08/hr (Master's degree)
      • LCSW/LPC/LMFT: $30.91/hr - $31.41/hr
      • Licensed Psychologist : $43.94/hr
      • LAC differential: $1.00/hr

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide direct therapeutic services based on the RAISE model's IRT (Individual Resiliency Training) evidenced-based intervention. Integrate other behavioral, solution-focused and strengths-based therapy modalities as needed.
  • Lead weekly specialty care coordination meetings with multidisciplinary team to further identify treatment successes, barriers and coordinate access to needed resources.
  • Help youth obtain basic needs for food, clothing, shelter, personal safety, and general medical and dental care, and assist them with applications for income, medical, housing, or other benefits which they may need and to which they are entitled. Identify youth for whom establishment of a protective payee-ship is necessary and arrange this assistance.
  • Ensure access to needed services and community resources by arranging for transportation, or if necessary, by taking the youth to the service in personal vehicle (business insurance on vehicle reimbursed by WellPower).
    • Must have valid Colorado Driver License
    • Have clean driving record
    • Reliable Vehicle to transport youth
  • Help youth evaluate both their strengths and symptoms, and facilitate in setting their own goals and plan for appropriate services;
  • Identify and coordinate with schools, care managers, hospitals and advocate for appropriate services within these systems and engaging community partners that may be referral sources.
  • Build rapport and support young people with serious mental health challenges and trauma through trauma-informed and person-centered work
  • Other duties as assigned.
HOURS: M-F, 8:00am-5pm (may have option for 4-day workweek, if preferred)

EDUCATION: Master's Degree in social work, psychology, or similar field. Current license as a LCSW/LPC/LMFT in the State of Colorado or within 6 months after hire date. Psychologists must have a Ph.D., Psy.D, or Ed.D. and licensed to practice psychology in the state of Colorado.

EXPERIENCE: Experience working with adolescents and/or young adults strongly preferred. Minimum of three years' experience in clinical setting. Experience working with moderate to severe and persistently mentally ill populations preferred.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Knowledge of methods of psychotherapy.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
  • Familiarity with the DSM V and diagnostic techniques.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible and on-call hours which may be required.
  • Must have valid drivers license and good driving record.
  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed care principles/practices.
  • Must have a clear understanding of HIPAA and rules of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, flexibly, and quickly adapt to changing situations
  • Good time-management for managing appointments in the community and for timely documentation in the EHR
