Product Planning leads the company in the definition of product and customer requirements for our vehicle's nameplates. The Product Planner is the advocate for a specific vehicle nameplate. In this role, you will lead cross functional teams comprised of engineering, design, marketing, and procurement to define and develop the product and its features. It all starts with the customer:

What needs motivate their purchase? What do they think of the brand and its products? What do they think of the competition?

This position is for the current and future product portfolio. In this highly strategic and visible role, the Product Planner is responsible for defining the competitive landscape, understanding specific competitor attributes, and defining customer data such as vocational usage and purchase/rejection reasons. The Product Planner will translate this knowledge and the brand objectives into a cohesive long-term product lifecycle plan and develop the features / content for each product action. Establishing the nameplate's content will require a detailed understanding of market trends as well as the competitive set and showroom dynamics. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that vehicle definition gate metrics are appropriate, clearly identified, and reviewed at program milestones. This role will also be responsible for defining the product's content and ensuring all business objectives are met. The Product Planner will work with the Product Configuration Specialist to align components and systems into a buildable plan. In addition, reviewing product correctness for external communication, PR, sales and training materials and supporting production launch and market launch activities will also be required. Passionate about the following: automotive industry /Jeep and SUV segments, strategic planning data analysis, accomplished and passionate about data mining analysis and the cognitive display of complex information. An excellent communicator and ability to develop clear, concise and cohesive executive-level presentations. Leading a high-achieving, cross-functional team. Pro-active approach and creative in developing solutions outside the "norm" Project management skills to lead complex initiatives with cross-functional team.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Market and trend analysis, customer data mining and segmentation competitive assessment
  • Industry / segment trends
  • Forecasting strategic planning
  • Develop portfolio strategy for cohesive brand equity, full customer coverage
  • Maximum profits and competitiveness
  • Define overall product lifecycle plan
  • Scenario planning / game theory - tactical execution
  • Develop individual product plans for each product in the portfolio to address the overall strategy and customer needs
  • Develop full business case for products and portfolio to maximize profitability and growth
  • Manage the product plan for a Jeep nameplate
