About General Motors Global Telecommunication Team:
In General Motors the Global Telecommunication team provides world class architecture, engineering, deployment, and support for all Wide Area Networks, Local Area Networks, Network Security, Applied Networking, Unified Communication, Contact Center Platform & Applications as well as Voice and Video Systems globally. General Motors has made a strategic direction to insource the IT services. As a result of that we are expanding the Global Telecommunication team to achieve General Motors vision to design, build and sell the world's best vehicles.

About the role:
The Voice/IVR Engineer will work within a Contact Center team to gather detailed requirements, document requirements, provide timeline, and design and build the solutions. Experience with call center best practices, metrics and telecommunications is highly desirable. We are seeking Contact Center Voice IVR Engineers with deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience in analyzing, designing, installing, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting application & telecommunications systems. They participate in engineering, capacity planning, support the creation and the maintenance of voice disaster recovery plans, and assist in monitoring all voice performance activities globally across all GM locations and act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the respective areas. These are technically challenging positions and hence the candidates must have in-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience in the respective areas.

Minimum Qualification:

Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Should have 6-8 years of in-depth hands-on experience

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for Designing, installing, implementing, administering, and maintaining voice systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Has knowledge of the following systems used within the enterprise (Avaya PBX, Avaya AAEP- Avaya Aura Experience Portal or AVP, Avaya Voice Portal, Avaya CMS, Reporting, NICE WFM/CQM,
  • Design, develop, and implement custom client/server and web based applications utilizing .NET Framework or Java.
  • Design, develop, and implement self-service IVR/VRU applications utilizing proprietary Avaya Orchestration Designer.
  • Create technical specification documentation and end-user training documentation related to custom applications.
  • Reviews facilities requirements and system interdependencies.
  • Assesses voice performance to ensure that it meets the present and future needs of the enterprise.
  • Monitors services provided by vendors to ensure service levels meet requirements.
  • Provides timely and complete project status reports to supervisor as requested.
  • Languages: Experience with 3 or more of the following technologies: Java, SQL, MYSQL, XML, VXML.
  • Ensures service levels are consistent with current business needs and future requirements. Avaya IC, CVP Studio, C#, VB, C++ or Microsoft Reporting services. Orchestration Designer experience including Speech application and grammar development- GRXML.
