A IT Field Engineer job opening in Dallas, TX is available courtesy of Modis. You'll be supporting the enterprise network infrastructure & desktops as well as resolving any system issues in order to minimize end user or customer impact. Must have experience with LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP and supporting user connectivity issues via onsite or remotely. Additionally, will need to have experience with supporting Microsoft applications such as Active Directory, MS Exchange and Office 365.

This is a Direct Hire opportunity which will require 100 % travel.

The IT Field Engineer job opening in Dallas, TX responsibilities include:

  • Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots end-user and network hardware, related equipment and software in order to deliver required desktop service levels.
  • Provide technical support and customer service for internal and external end users. Respond to any issues or requests via incoming calls, texts, instant messaging or emails.
  • Check service desk database for assigned entries
  • Recommends and executes modifications to IT infrastructure in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
  • Performs on-site, surveys, documentation, for analysis and diagnosis of complex hardware problems/needs.
  • Recommends and implements corrective solutions, including coordinating off-site repair as needed.
  • Develops and maintains an inventory of all end user and network hardware and related equipment for assigned regional zones.
  • Ensures physical connections and network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony/fax equipment, Point of Sale (POS) and other network appliances are in proper working order.
  • Assists in designing and implementing regional server room security features, including HVAC control, environmental alarms and access restrictions

    • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field and four (4) years of experience in Information technology or related field
  • Required to be on-call and perform after-hours support on an as-needed basis; will also require occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness for 100% Travel required, including overnight, to support remote locations.
  • Assists in designing and implementing regional server room security features, including HVAC
  • control, environmental alarms and access restrictions
  • Strong working knowledge of LAN/WAN and internet uses and typical user connectivity problems
  • Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN implementation and support.
  • Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, MS Exchange, O365, VPN, and FTP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with design software to document network and full site location layouts.
