RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking an IT Category Manager in Houston, TX.Summary:As the Senior Procurement Specialist, you will lead the execution of transactional procurement tasks such as contract support, simple RFPs, issuance of POs, order expediting, and troubleshooting invoice holds. In addition, this role is responsible to troubleshoot order and contract issues as assigned. The position negotiates basic work scopes and pricing with vendors and develops contracts using established protocols as defined by the company. The IT Category Manager works collaboratively and proactively to identify process improvement opportunities. The candidate serves as subject matter resource and formally or informally mentors other Procurement Specialists.Specifically, you'll have the opportunity to:
  • IT Category Manager will perform SAP transactions and other duties as required by purchasing professionals/staff
  • Procure standard materials and services from suppliers at the lowest cost, with consideration to quality, reliability, and need
  • Complete bid evaluations, cost analysis, price justification, and risk assessment for suppliers
  • Create and manage purchase orders and execute RFPs for materials and services
  • Negotiate, award, and implement contracts and purchase orders
  • Manage new vendor processes
  • Work with business unit to formulate and define the scope and objective of purchases
  • Proactively communicate with internal departments and procurement on delays that affect operations
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Business Units to resolve supplier accounting issues
  • As an IT Category Manager, you will ensure proper documentation is provided by suppliers and that all procurement activities adhere to established policies and procedures
  • Develop strong working knowledge of all procurement systems and processes
  • Provide expertise to ensure that Service Level Agreements meet the needs of the end-user client area


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, or other related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
