IoT Solution Architect BCforward is currently seeking an IoT Solution Architect for one of our clients. Job Title: IoT Solution ArchitectDuration: 6 Months - CTHLocation: RemoteJob Type: Contract to HireDescription: A global industry leader is looking for a contract to hire OT and IoT Solution Architect. The Solution Architect is a technical leader with a deep understanding of operational technology and the Internet of Things, and who can create a holistic view of the interaction between OT, IoT and enterprise IT systems. This role will develop and support a roadmap to enable the delivery of capabilities and technology resources and will serve as a subject matter expert for OT and IoT deployment and integration. This individual should be highly motivated with excellent analysis, execution, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of industrial control systems, OT network security practices, industrial and IoT communication protocols, cloud-based services to support OT/IoT integration, and OT/IoT device management. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be able to provide technical direction to resources outside of direct control and influence teams.

What Else Will You Do?
* Provide strategic recommendations for OT system design, security, and integration.
* Design wholistic IoT technical strategy and vision based on business needs and capabilities.
* Collaborate, build, and communicate frameworks, principles and roadmaps across a wide variety of stakeholders.
* Present technical concepts and specific solutions to audiences of varying technical capabilities in a clear, concise and easily understood manner.
* Provide architectural oversight during project definition and design to ensure the solutions are aligned with OT/IoT Strategy and overall Enterprise Architecture.
* Act as a liaison between OT/IoT and IT departments.
* Ensure compliance of solutions to cybersecurity standards and industry recommendations.
* Drive secure and consistent integration between OT/IoT systems and other enterprise IT systems.
* Create OT and IoT reference architectures and drive implementation across all relevant components.
* Contribute to and execute on IT strategy to ensure alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
* Create proposals for proof of concepts requests and presentations.
* Produce technical documentation of systems, applications, and architectures.
* Act as a subject matter expert on technologies and trends in your domain of expertise.
* Act as a consultant on relevant technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings.
* Provide technical and functional guidance to business units and product teams.
* Work in close collaboration with IT engineering and architecture teams, and business unit instrumentation and control teams.
* Monitor and analyze industry, technology and market trends to determine their potential impact or application for the organization.
* Present to stakeholders on how architectural and technical options will meet their needs.
* Help business leaders and their teams think through the technology, business and operational implications of their technology investment decisions.
* Influences the implementation of solutions, identifying resources and developing timelines.
* Effectively communicates risks, issues and alternative options.
* Takes initiative to achieve valued-added results and improve upon solutions offered.
* Develops and fosters collaborative working relationships with the business, project managers and IT team members
* Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the Purdue model.

What Experience Should You Have?
* 5 or more years of experience in application architecture and/or electrical engineering, and/or systems management to include:
o Good knowledge of industrial communications/networks and protocols including OPC, Modbus, and MQTT
o Experience with application development and support of COTS applications
o Experience with relational databases such as SQL Sever
o Knowledge in Open-Source Products
o Experience with automation coding/scripting
o Experience in cloud-based IoT platforms
