This position can be based in El Paso, TX, Irvine, CA, Marlborough, MA or New York, NY.

What you will be doing:

The Direct-to-Consumer division is seeking a Release Manager who also enjoys leading projects. The primary role is to lead release planning, deployment, and environment management for IoT infrastructure. Secondly, you will assist the team in project managing small to mid-size projects.


  • Crafting practice and go-live deployment plans for monthly and weekly releases as part of a scaled agile framework. system outage maintenance windows and upgrades

  • Lead Change Requests and represented releases to various partner groups. Accountable for communications and partner concerns for program environment management

  • Maintain and improve the use of automation tools for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment.

  • Design/maintain environments that require compliance with standards (e.g., SOC 2, FDA, GDPR/CCPA)

  • Work within fast-paced teams, with high-traffic production applications, partaking in the full product lifecycle from conceptualization, release, and monitoring.

  • Use modern principles of decoupled systems, high ownership, and automated CI/CD/testing/monitoring.

  • Responsible for working with the IoT DevOps and Digital Tech DevOps team to deliver the services on time and will work with IT operations and developers.

  • Plan the release of project deliverables and release life cycle.

  • Communicate the project-related tasks such as plans, timelines, requirements, etc. between different teams.

  • Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon the third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates.

  • Identify the risks that can delay the release and lead them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected.

  • Serve as point-of-contact for solution integrators, development resources, agency or other external technology resources supporting digital technology initiatives.

  • Schedule or attend the CAB meetings to discuss the release schedules with the team and find roadblocks, if any.

  • Maintain documentation related to procedures on build and release, various notifications list, and dependencies.

  • Make improvements in the methodologies used for configuration management and development of software that helps to find ways to use in configuration management.


Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Deploying, automating, maintaining, and leading AWS cloud-based systems, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of all systems.

  • Build, release, and configuration management of systems supporting the platform.

  • Strong scripting (e.g., Python, Groovy) and automation skills.

  • Team management skills.

  • Possess strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology organizations.

  • Demonstrable ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.

  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal, and presentation) and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • 5+ years of digital commerce, IoT, or marketing experience in global enterprise organization.

  • 5+ years various Linux environments, esp. command line tools.

  • 5+ years' experience delivering software releases, including tracking important metrics, and communicating status to upper management within an Agile environment.

  • Project management experience.

  • Experience building high-traffic backend services and APIs, with a preference towards experience with PHP and Python.

  • Demonstrable experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CD/CI) pipelines

  • Established record of accomplishment in defining success criteria, metrics, test, and deployment management methodologies.

  • Solid understanding of Software Development Lifecycle.

  • Experience in the use of Application Release Automation tools such as ElectricFlow, Puppet Enterprise.

  • Knowledge of traditional agile methodologies, including Scrum, or Kanban.

  • Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating system, Linux system administration.

  • Experience with both on-premises and cloud environments.
