Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Inventory Control Supervisor to join our TEAM! As the Inventory Control Supervisor, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support in inventory control and related warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory.

Primary Objective:
Supervises warehouse activities involved in inventory control and related warehouse management systems (WMS) to ensure inventory accuracy.
Supervises and coordinates activities of Customer Service in relation to the distribution of product. Engage in handling orders and telephone complaints of customers by performing the following duties.

Major Functions and Scope:

  • Provides Supervision to multi-shift inventory control and customer service staff.
  • Plans and implements systems improvements, reports, hardware and software.
  • Reviews and analyzes inventory transactions effecting distribution budget. (scraps, adjustments, errors, etc.)
  • Arranges for disposal of surplus materials and maintains control over excess and obsolete materials.
  • Reviews all Inventory Transfer Discrepancies (ITD's) and improves processes to reduce and eliminate ITD's.
  • Supports measurement systems and provides reports to RDC management.
  • Teams with external and internal customers to answer customer inquiries, returns, order issues, and quality assurance
  • Analyzes key information to compile work volume statistics for accounting purposes and to keep records of customer service requests and complaints.
  • Ensures cycle count goals and inventory accuracy measurements are met.
  • Ensures adherence to Sarbanes Oxley requirements according to Headquarters guidelines.
  • Coaches, trains and reviews performance of direct reports on inventory and warehouse processes.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Ensures employees meet all established standards for productivity, accuracy, equipment maintenance, housekeeping and safety.
  • Supervise warehouse personnel in effecting the receipt, storage, cycle counting and kitting of materials within the daily deadlines.
  • Ensure the accurate entry of data, proper documentation, and correct inventory activities to support required levels of inventory accuracy.

Education and Knowledge:
Bachelor's degree highly preferred; associates degree and three years; or five plus years of warehouse/distribution management and high school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read and write English fluently. Basic computer literacy. Working knowledge of all warehouse, distribution, transportation and logistics related functions. APICS certification and/or Six Sigma preferred.

Experience:
Five years plus of logistics/distribution experience required. Minimum three years Lead or Supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution or manufacturing environment also required. Minimum 5 years supervision and/or management experience with emphasis in warehouse management systems and inventory control.

Competencies:
Core competencies include excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership skills. Ability to plan, schedule, relate ideas, and coordinate priorities. Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, Access and Power Point. Must have aggressive approach to resolve systems and inventory control issues with minimal supervision. Ability to work with direct reports on various shifts as needed. Must be forklift certified.

Associates Supervised:
Hourly 5- 20
