We encourage applicants with demonstrated experience collaborating with, and serving, people from a wide range of backgrounds.For more information on Centralia College and the Centralia area, call 360-736-9391 or visit www.centralia.edu.Job Description Under general direction of the Nursing Director, this position facilitates on-campus skills lab and simulation activities for nursing students at Centralia College in a technician capacity.Duties and Responsibilities Assist Nursing faculty to plan and implement campus skills lab activities, considering all aspects of high-fidelity-simulation, skills lab practice and classroom support. Responsible for the timely physical set-up and breakdown of the Centralia College Nursing Program (CCNP) lab and simulation equipment. Training students and faculty on technology equipment as listed below. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Super user/trainer: simulator manikins, medication dispensing cabinet, patient monitors, hospital beds, Audio/visual recording equipment and other equipment acquired.Ensure workability simulators (tubes, drains, collection bags, etc.).Ensure connectivity of technology (router, Sim Annie, monitors, pyxis, etc.).Following manufacturer directions for use (DFU): cleaning/sanitizing/routine maintenance. Ensure all supplies and equipment are stocked and in good repair for each simulation.Utilize actual healthcare equipment when at all possible.If limitations are experienced, all efforts to make simulation equipment and props as real as possible.Maintains simulation equipment preventative maintenance and minor repairs in-house or with simulation vendor. Supports nursing simulation training by preparing for each session, setting up task trainers, filling supplies and preparing manikins for student lab. Ensure students are trained on each simulator/task trainer and is available for student needs regarding usability of lab & simulation equipment. Operates patient simulation during simulation activities (including monitors, changing patient presentation and "acting" as the simulator patient voice as faculty requires).Maintain and operate campus equipment (audio-visual, medication dispensing units, monitors, manikins, etc.)Maintains/updates spreadsheet inventory of supplies and stock consumables. Orders supplies/equipment as necessary (related to inventory PAR levels).Keeps lab clean, free of clutter, organized, and ensures easy student access to all supplies.Participates in departmental meetings.Contributes to a work environment which encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of current best practices related to nursing including justice, equity, and diversity.Contributes to professional best practices, staying current on policy, equipment, and nursing care as it relates to needed skill sets.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
    A Bachelor's Degree with major study in a basic applied science AND two years of full-time experience as an Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2 or equivalent OR Equivalent education/experience.Experience with or ability to learn specific healthcare education technologyExperience in Healthcare Simulation Operations.Experience with Microsoft, ADOBE and Excel.Ability to understand or the ability to quickly learn and operate most equipment found in a healthcare setting.Knowledge of and ability to operate computerized simulators, correlating software and audio/visual equipment.BLS certification.Ability to work independently and/or as a part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
    Certified Simulation Technician.Certified Simulation Operations Specialist.Experience as nursing assistant, EMT or related healthcare fields.
Additional Notes:Position should have knowledge of (or the ability to learn): software programs utilized for simulation and management of lab (Laerdal connectivity, manikins, excel, pyxis, Microsoft word).Position must have willingness to embrace and seek out new technologies and innovative organizational practices; working collaboratively with educational team.Position will follow Centralia College code of conduct and professionalism with peers and students. Physical Requirements
    Position requires frequent activities related to: lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, climbing, crawling and reaching above shoulder level.Standing, sitting, walking for prolonged period.
Conditions of Employment

There is one 40 hours per week, 10-month position. Classified employees are represented by the Washington State Federation of State Employees (WFSE). The state of Washington provides a comprehensive benefits package for state employees.

COMPENSATION
Monthly Salary: Range 47 ($3,974 - $5,214)
