Position Purpose:
Identify and improve the outcomes of manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction. Support and manage continuous improvement projects. Tooling and fixture design support for Controls Manufacturing Engineering. Provide AS400 Industrial Engineering support and documentation. Provide support to Engineering by entering and maintaining all product components and bills of material in AS400 system.
Essential Functions:

  • Participate in project management activities as required. Support SPPD processes.
  • Coordinate and monitor movement of product development activities throughout the organization to ensure that program deliverables and due dates are maintained.
  • Coordinate timely release of ECN's, ERN's, and Deviations with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality Assurance. Update KBM system accordingly.
  • Develop, assemble, or modify existing and new tooling, fixtures, and equipment to ensure efficient production methods through PCR's.
  • Write new or update existing work instructions to comply with Hendrickson's operating procedures.
  • Assist in the prompt data input and generation of routers; determine work centers, raw material quantities, IF/IR codes, etc.
  • Identify and facilitate process improvement projects to drive cultural change.
  • Carry out advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping.
  • Drive value stream mapping and the transition to Future State.
  • Organize, facilitate, and lead teams through the process of MOS, 5S, VSM, etc.
  • Complete time studies to quantify processing times and identify areas for process improvements.
  • Participate in updating or creating new PFMEA's, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams
  • Education and Training
    • Must have Associates degree in engineering, computer science or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Layout and detail design experience with AutoCAD or Pro E preferred
    • Experience working with engineering drawings and some computer programming capabilities are desired.
    • Understanding of dimensioning methods per ANSI Y14.5M
    • Computer literate - Microsoft Office
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Mechanical aptitude with high technical competency
