What You Will Contribute:


Under the direction of the Import/Export Compliance Supervisor, this position is responsible for supporting the daily transactional activities that relate to supporting BMI's Import/Export Compliance program. Areas of support include customs compliance and international logistics initiatives, which include the areas of customs entry and international logistics/freight operations, trade programs, recordkeeping, quoting, invoicing and internal auditing. The involves various facets of import and export regulatory compliance; working closely with all Badger Meter, Inc sites and US brokers to ensure compliance with various government regulations and BMI corporate policies.

  • Update required Trade Data (HTS, Origin, etc.) as directed by Trade Compliance staff in LX system
  • Ensure recordkeeping is compliant with guidelines set forth by various government agencies and BMI corporate policy
  • Pull records to assist Finance in the audit of BMI imports
  • Review and audit all invoices related to US import and export
  • Provide international freight quotes to Customer Care
  • Audit import and export documentation while staying current on international compliance regulations
  • Coordinate responses to customs brokers for daily inquiries on entry information
  • Provide support for the implementation of system automation for trade compliance related processes
  • Provide daily support to import/export trade compliance activities
  • Provide administrative support related to broker SOP's and Trade Compliance Manuals
  • Additional projects, tasks, and/or assignments as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree preferred but not required.
  • Ideally 1+ year of relevant experience in Import/Export
  • Intermediate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work within a team and with minimal supervision
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask, prioritize and be adaptable
  • Solid communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
