Job Title: HVAC Project Service Technician

Reports to: Projects Supervisor - Technician

JOB SUMMARY: MSI seeks a Journeyman Project Service Technician to perform project technical work on Commercial & Industrial HVAC installations & retrofits. Installation of commercial mechanical systems of varying design, capacity, and complexity. This position is for an experienced field project technician to join a strong well experienced team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Safely operate company
• Follow all company safety policies as required.
• Assist with project field coordination as needed.
• Perform installation based on best practices & manufacturer requirements of various HVAC equipment.
• Perform projects within a large variety of vertical markets - data centers, office buildings, hospitals, labs, educational institutions, etc.
• Perform start-up and verification on newly installed equipment.
• Provide advanced trouble shooting on HVAC systems and units as needed.
• Maintain high level of craftmanship and best trade practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrate high mechanical
• Demonstrate high knowledge of refrigerant & chilled water systems.
• Provide high level of electrical & controls troubleshooting for mechanical systems.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of good customer service techniques.
• Congenial personality and a helpful attitude.
• Physical activities of standing, balancing, climbing stairs & ladders, walking and lifting of weights of 50 lbs or more are required in daily performance of job.
• Use of upper extremities required for forward and overhead reaching, pushing and pulling, and material handling.
• Use of torso and lower extremities required for kneeling, crawling, stooping, twisting, and squatting.
• Enrolled in or have completed HVAC Apprenticeship Program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience as a Service or Projects Technician desired.
