Overview

Come join the Kings Dominion Human Resources Team at Benton Hall! As a Resident Assistant, you are responsible for supporting our dorm residents while keeping the Housing Supervisor informed of activities, concerns, and residential needs. In this role, you will assist in developing various housing events and activities while maintaining the cleanliness of Benton Hall.

Qualifications

• Kings Dominion Associate Housing associates must be of at least 18 years of age to apply.
• Ability to hold the highest standards in confidentiality
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service when interacting with associates and coworkers.
• Ability to assist in defining and directing problems or issues, and have a vast knowledge of the company. Giving correct directions is crucial.
• Ability to demonstrate basic computer and typing skills.
• Ability to utilize strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak in front of groups.
• Ability to utilize problem-solving skills, including working in a fast-paced, service-focused culture.
• Ability to demonstrate strong time management, planning, and organizational skills in order to optimize productivity.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provides guest service according to Kings Dominion standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
• Build a community environment in the building based on respect, which allows all residents to feel safe, comfortable and included. Establish a “team” environment within the building through role modeling, with a focus on the company Cornerstones.
• Participate in planning, promoting, and execution of cultural and community activities and encourage residents to become active participants. This includes hosting/facilitating events.
• Perform administrative tasks to include weekly reports, communication documents, room assignments, check out documents, etc.

• Understand, explain, support and enforce all Associate Housing policies and procedures. Policies include, but are not limited to, visitors, quiet hours, cleanliness, smoking on property, etc.

• Responsible for the cleanliness of the common areas, including but not limited to the lounge areas, restrooms, kitchen facilities, and areas outside surrounding housing facilities.

• Responsible for transportation to and from airport, banks, Social Security office, and any other destinations assigned. Maintain the cleanliness of the company provided vehicle.
