General Statement of Job:
The HRIS Reporting and Data Analyst assists in the operation and maintenance of the human resources reporting system to ensure accurate and timely processing of all changes to an employee's database and maintains the ongoing integrity of data through timely audit reports. Supports and collaborates with the HRIS Manager on all business system projects. Responsible for the development and maintenance of management, standard production, user, regulatory, and ad hoc reports.
Additionally, the HRIS Reporting and Data Analyst provides formal training to human resources data system users using custom software and business system.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. This role compiles and analyzes HR data, metrics, and statistics to create reports for various human resource programs and initiatives.
  2. Collaborates with stakeholders (internal/external) in understanding business requirements and ensures results meet requirements/business needs.
  3. Provides support and maintenance for the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensures data integrity, and tests system updates and changes.
  4. Develop and enhance the HR reporting function; create and maintain advanced and ad hoc reports, HR dashboards, scorecards, and other reports to support HR using system programs, report writer programs (Argos, Toad, or Oracle SQL Developer), and MS Excel and Access.
  5. Generate reports and analyses for end-users within the college.
  6. Ensure data integrity and accuracy within HRIS by writing queries, analyzing data, and providing solutions to maintain high reporting standards and data cleanliness.
  7. Compile and analyze HR data and statistics to create metrics to identify trends to aid strategic decision making.
  8. May assist with managing HRIS projects to ensure the project scope, plan tasks and timeline meet the project requirements.
  9. Participates in cyclical HRIS processes including HRIS upgrades, testing of system changes and workflow implementations, etc.
  10. Create job aids, guides, and documentation relevant to HRIS technology processes
  11. As the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) reporting agent and expert, responsible for preparing, verifying, and submitting all quarterly and annual workforce information and labor reports, including but not limited to, IPEDS and FTE reports. Consults with functional users regarding data being used, as needed.
  12. Maintains department and college-wide related systems, including organizational structure set-up, program configuration, and system security and access authorization.
  13. Maintains familiarity with the College’s policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
  14. Extracts, cross-references, and prepares data for an eventual ERP transformation project.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:
  1. Associate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field required; Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  2. Excellent knowledge of the coding language SQL required.
  3. Experience in database management and reporting software such as Toad, or Oracle SQL Developer, preferred.
  4. Experience in Evision’s reporting software Argos, preferred.
