Human Resources Information Systems Analyst

Location: Pecan Plaza

General Statement of Job:
Facilitates and supports key processes and accountabilities within Human Resources, primarily in the area of Human Resources Information Systems Management. Provides pseudo-technical expertise to develop and implement technology-related projects, reports, and documents. Serves as departmental reporting agent responsible for producing standard and customized reports for internal and external agencies. Provides mid-level writing and basic technical skills to design technical documents, reports, and business process workflows for Human Resources projects. Responsible for preparing and submitting workforce reporting for Human Resources.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Analyzes HR workflow processes and makes recommendations for improvements via technology; oversees the specifications, development, and implementation of new or redesigned business process systems, reports, and procedures for HR module users to ensure efficient business processes.
  2. Administers and configures the Workday HRIS system, including custom fields, workflows, business processes, and security profiles.
  3. Provides internal client support, including report writing and dashboard building, troubleshooting data and system issues, recommending solutions, and implementing enhancements and fixes.
  4. Works on problems of various scopes where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors; exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action; may recommend changes to existing procedures and practices based on analysis of data.
  5. Manages integrations between Workday and other HR-related systems or software,
  6. Ensures data integrity within Workday and assists with HRIS data audits and cleanup. such as payroll, time and attendance, or benefits administration.
  7. Identifies system flaws and recommends a course of action to correct them.
  8. Participates in HRIS/IT teams, interdepartmental committees/subcommittees, focus groups, and meetings. Provides demonstrations of new functionality, new systems, and prototypes of new solutions to HR and/or Departmental leadership
  9. Participates in HRIS-related projects, including system upgrades, enhancements, and new feature implementations. Collaborate with Workday vendors or service providers to troubleshoot issues, request support, and stay up-to-date on software updates.
  10. Participates in cross-team and cross-platform integration design including the integration of external or third-party applications
  11. Participates in the testing of upgrades, patches/fixes, new applications or modules, and program/interface changes that affect the Company HR systems
  12. Participates in the design, implementation, and review of Workflow applications that are user-friendly and easy to support while meeting business requirements to the highest standard and long-term sustainability.
  13. Contributes to the building of complex data sets and conducts intricate analysis involving human resources data; defines user objectives, business needs, scope, and revises existing system logic difficulties.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:
  1. Associate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field required; Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  2. One (1) year of experience in the following areas: report writing, querying, data analysis, HRIS, ERP, or database management, preferred.
  3. Knowledge of HR processes and terminology, preferred.
  4. Excellent math, analytical and problem-solving skills, preferred.
  5. Advanced level of ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot computers with proficiency in Excel, Word, FrontPage, Access (or other database software), preferred.
