What You Will Contribute:


The Badger Meter Internship Program provides hands-on, real-world experience to students through projects that make a difference! In addition to your projects, you will be given the opportunity to participate in our robust Intern program focused on Badger Meter Culture, professional development, community outreach and a final capstone project.

Badger Meter is hiring a Human Resource Generalist Intern at our Global Headquarters in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. The Human Resources Intern will have exposure to all areas of HR, from employee relations, compensation, learning and development and will spend the majority of time assisting our HR Operations team.

Essential Job Duties:

This position will allow someone to get exposure and involvement across the Human Resources function.

  • Internship Project: In this role you will have the opportunity to make a long term impact on how Badger Meter manages our Engineering Structure. This role will assist and manage job description updates, Workday changes, and communicate with team members both within HR and the engineering departments to update our structure.
  • Human Resources Partner: In an addition to the engineering structure project, assist with general job description creation, promotion letter creation, and other opportunities focused on employee engagement and career progression within the US.
  • Company/Employee Communication: Assist the HR team with creating and preparing various communications, ranging from social media posts to employee branding initiatives.
  • Total Rewards: Assist the Total Rewards team with compensation projects involving salary surveys, salary requests and benefits administration.
  • Talent Acquisition: Assist the Talent Acquisition team with Intern activities throughout the summer.

Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Intermediate computer/technical skills in Microsoft products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Graphic design experience a plus but not necessary for the role
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent oral and written skills; the ability to interact effectively with employees at every level of the business
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Curiosity and a deep desire to learn
  • Strong project management skills
  • Prior experience with HRIS systems a plus but not required.
