Job Title: Human Resource Generalist

Job Summary:

CCI is seeking an HR Generalist who can proactively engage with business operations to deliver HR Initiatives that support business objectives and drive growth for the business and its people.

The Human Resources Generalist is a vital part of a progressive and engaged Human Resources team. The HR Generalist will provide counsel and business leaders and managers on a variety of HR related topics, with an emphasis on resolving personnel relations matters and supporting key staffing initiatives. The HR Generalist will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: performance management, coaching, compensation, onboarding, policy implementation, compliance and recruitment. This position will be located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administer HR programs related to training and development, performance management, benefits, leave management, recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, HR policy management, compliance and HR Reporting:
Training, Development and Performance Management
  • Promote CCI's culture and actively build positive relationships with employees to promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Support several employee development initiatives including new employee reviews, annual employee appraisals, and annual employee personal development plans.
  • Support management with employee performance management with goal of minimizing job expectation gap and achieving success for both the employee and the company.
  • Perform research and data analysis to provide recommendations on opportunities to enhance employee training and development.
Benefits and Employee Health & Wellness:
  • Support administration of benefits programs and serve as a liaison between employees and benefit administrators.
  • Proactively educate employees on benefits plans and available resources and assist employees with claims questions.
  • Administer appropriate leave of absence processes and procedures and ensure sensitive employee information is secured according to Federal and State requirements.
  • Actively promote healthy workplace education and events.
Recruiting and Onboarding:
  • Support the implementation of CCI's strategic recruiting initiatives and facilitate full-life cycle recruitment process from job posting to candidate onboarding.
  • Maintain CCI's relationships with colleges, universities, trade schools and other local partnerships to sustain an effective network of on-going talent options and sourcing opportunities.
  • Stay informed and current on labor market trends, compensation rates, and recruiting best practices; use market research and data analysis to provide recommendations on opportunities to enhance CCI's recruiting efforts and expand our talent network.
Employee Relations and HR Policy Management
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers to facilitate the resolution of employee relations matters.
  • Support CCI and EMS HR Leaders in conducting workplace investigations.
  • Advise operations leaders on HR Policy matters to support effective interpretation and implementation of Employee Handbook Policies.
  • Drive adherence to Employee Handbook policies and respond to HR policy related issues or inquiries.

Compliance and HR Reporting
  • Responsible for tracking metrics, extracting information from a data base and compiling reports for distribution.
  • Assure and assess compliance to human resources policies and procedures as well as applicable federal, state, and local legislation and regulations.
  • Ensure timely submittal of federal, state and local reporting requirements including but not limited to: EEO-1 data collection, Veteran status reporting, Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements and affirmative action program (AAP) reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources or Labor Relations. Prior experience in construction, manufacturing or other related industry is preferred.
  • Human Resources Certification (PHR or SPHR) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment and labor and benefit legislation and regulations. Experience working in unionized environments is preferred.
  • Able to successfully navigate through conflict while ensuring effective relationships remain intact.
  • Able to proactively communicate and engage correct stakeholders by defining and implementing action planning
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be results-oriented and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Able to analyze data, synthesize and provide recommendations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Prior experience with HR Information Systems is preferred.
