GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This role directs HSE Coordinators to effectively manage and maintain a comprehensive HSE Program in an effort to achieve and maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations for all locations within North America.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs HSE Coordinators to manage the overall Health, Safety & Environmental Program for Business Units in North America
  • Participates in the planning, establishment, and review of HSE policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Coordinate HSE policy, procedure, and form revisions with Global QAQC/HSE System Specialist as necessary
  • Provides HSE training instruction within North America as needed
  • Participates in the planning, establishment, and implementation of annual HSE Goals & Objectives for locations within North America
  • Participates in annual HSE Management Review
  • Provides opinions and support to North America Management Team on issues regarding HSE compliance
  • Evaluates work processes to identify risks and propose corresponding controls
  • Prepares and submits HSE incident reports into SIMS in accordance with Corporate requirements
  • Communicates with injured employees and SESI Corporate Risk Management Team to effectively manage work-related cases
  • Supports the management of workers’ compensation claims through closure
  • Reviews and investigates claims of incidents/loss and documents: findings, root cause(s), and corrective action to be implemented
  • Ensures effective overall corrective action planning and completion
  • Ensures the proper maintenance and organization of HSE records in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements
  • Ensures implementation and management of Facility safety inspections
  • Provides oversight and support regarding DOT and Environmental compliance
  • Works with Management Team to promote increased health, safety & environmental awareness among employees
  • Participates in safety meetings to inform employees of and emphasize HSE rules, procedures, and performance
  • Makes recommendations to resolve actual and potential HSE issues within North America
  • Evaluates and directs SHARP program, including the review of Stop Work Authority or Near Miss incidents
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Knowledgeable of HSE, DOT, EPA, and industry regulations pertinent to oilfield service operations
  • Knowledgeable of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Team software packages
  • Effective writing and verbal communication skills
BEHAVIORAL ABILITIES
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
  • Ability to handle and resolve problems
  • Able to manage a wide variety and quantity of tasks accurately and timely
  • Able to work with diverse workforce including all levels of management, suppliers and employees
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of five (5) years of HSE Management experience, oilfield industry preferred.
