Job Summary
The HR Representative for Total Compensation is primarily responsible for providing operational and administrative support within the Department of Human Resource's Records and Compensation teams. This position is integral in the successful on-boarding of new employees, processing job changes, promotions and annual merit increases. This position partners closely with the Benefits team, Compensation team, HR Business Partners, and the Payroll Department.
Essential Functions
- Maintains personnel files/records and creates and manages databases. Assists faculty, staff, and other members of the HR team with inquiries or changes regarding the on boarding process, personnel records, job related information, terminations, merit increases, and job changes/promotions.
- Runs queries and is proactive in finding issues with data. Position requires heavy data entry.
- Provides operational and administrative support to the Compensation & Records team and to the HR Department as a whole. This includes but is not limited to: processing timely correspondence; answering email, phone, and face to face inquiries from internal and external customers, scanning, filing, answering phones, assisting with I9 completion and employment testing, directing student workers, etc.
- Serves as a member of various HR cross functional teams and ad-hoc project teams created to implement new initiatives and refine processes.
- Serve as a member of the Front Desk Team, serving as a back up for answering HR main line and assisting front desk during peak times as needed.
- Helps implement electronic systems by testing and providing input.
- Updates Human Resources website as needed.
Qualifications Education and ExperienceA high school diploma, or equivalent, and two (2) years of administrative experience is required for this role, a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Prior experience in Human Resources, Payroll, or similar customer focused work-environment is desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe ideal candidate will have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. A strong customer service orientation is a must. Candidate should be skilled in problem solving, time management, and project management.
Organizational and planning skills are a must. Attention to detail is key. Basic math skills are required for this role.
Candidate should demonstrate strong MS Outlook, Excel, and Word skills. Previous experience with PeopleSoft, Gideon Taylor eFroms, Insite, SiteCore, ImageNow (or other scanning technology is preferred but not required.
