Our client, a well-established specialty retailer, is seeking an HR Business Partner to join their New York team. Your responsibilities in this role will include partnering with leadership to support change management activities and ensure alignment with the organization's business strategy and performance goals, maintaining working knowledge of legal requirements and HR policies as well as labor and union best practices, coaching and advising managers to grow their leadership capabilities, and supporting the identification and implementation of training needs for departments and individual executive coaching. Other day to day tasks will include providing input on departmental restructures and succession planning, supporting the growth of diversity and inclusion approaches within talent acquisition, development, and retention, and serving as a key stakeholder on HR projects. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience as an HR Business Partner, a strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively, working knowledge of various HR areas including compensation, employee relations, diversity, and organizational diagnosis, exceptional relationship building and client management skills, excellent communication skills, strong prioritization and multitasking skills, experience working with unions, and experience in environments with international objectives. Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner
  • Experience working with Union Workers and Collective Bargaining Agreements
  • Strong relationship building and client management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to partner with international stakeholders
  • Exceptional time management and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including performance management, diversity, compensation, and employment laws
  • Strong problem solving skills and a proactive work ethic
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels
