The North American HR Business Manager partners with business function leadership to enable program and service delivery for employees located primarily in Burr Ridge, IL. This role is the regional lead for all HR activities. The role uses an understanding of the business to assess the HR implications of various business strategies. The HR Manager is able to address a variety of HR issues constructively by providing independent, objective, and confident advice and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Powertrain and Defense Segments through separation from Agriculture and Construction segments.
  • Partner with business function leadership to develop policies and programs that address critical talent objectives in the areas of attraction/retention, leadership development, performance management, and positive employee relations.
  • Work closely with vendors to design, communicate and implement benefit offerings for organization.
  • Direct organization design through the evaluation of roles, identification of critical skill development, and forecasting of staffing needs.
  • Counsel managers and supervisors on HR policies, procedures, compensation and benefit programs, and disciplinary actions to ensure consistent and fair treatment of all employees.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and business process owner for HR programs and manage the relationship with external service partners to ensure quality, timeliness, and cost standards are met.
  • Understand the company's total compensation strategy and works with the business to ensure the consistent application of pay and performance actions.
  • Oversee the staffing process to ensure positions are filled in a timely manner with high quality candidates, this includes discussing staffing needs with management, screening applicants and participating in the interview process.
  • Maintain familiarity and compliance with all local, state, federal employment and EEO laws to ensure effective and timely employment decisions.
  • Deliver clear communication within the business unit on HR policies, practices and initiatives.
  • Ensure the availability and accuracy of talent data maintained in the HR systems and analyze trends to assist in the development of key talent reporting/metrics.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline and 6+ years of work experience in an HR generalist role

Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Experience in a large, global organization
  • Knowledge of organization design principles
  • Experience developing and interpreting business critical people data and analytics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions
  • Organized, able to multi-task, and prioritize work
