Overview:

Gibbs & Cox, Inc., the nation's leading independent naval architecture, marine engineering and design firm is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Human Resources Benefits Administrative Assistant.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supports day-to-day employee benefit processing
  • Support company and employee benefits, plan audit and invoice reconciliation by working in conjunction with payroll and the finance department
  • Assists with all aspects of benefits administration for fulltime, casual, and retired employees
  • Supports HR initiatives including employee wellness activities, benefits meetings, and annual staff trainings
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and input employee data and personnel record updates (personal information, benefits data, etc.)
  • Coordinates on-boarding preparations and requirements (confirming new hires benefit elections and vendor entry), together with other administration and business units
  • Manages administration for employee total rewards benefits
  • Assists with the implementation and facilitation of open enrollment, wellness, pension and retiree plans
  • Provide records and information related to the processing of disability and workmen's compensation claims
  • Participate in special projects
  • Interfaces with all staff levels in multiple states and countries


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in or equivalent in Business Management or Human Resources
  • Minimum 5 years human resources experience
  • Minimum 5 years benefits administration experience
  • Strong knowledge of CostPoint & Deltek
  • Knowledge of labor and employment laws
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and high attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information at the highest level regarding all employee-related issues
  • Ability to multi-task and handle conflicting priorities
