Job Description

PRIMARY RELATIONSHIPS: Will interact directly with residents and all levels of staff.

We are looking for a Part-Time Housekeeper to join our Bethesda Care Center team in Fremont, OH! The shift hours are 9am-5:30pm, which includes working every other weekend!

OBJECTIVE: The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of all facility areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Performs defined cleaning procedures, using various chemicals and cleaning agents, supplies and equipment, including:
  2. Dusting/polishing and arranging furniture or equipment.
  3. Mopping and polishing floors.
  4. Vacuuming carpets and draperies.
  5. Scouring and sanitizing sinks, toilets, tubs and shower areas.
  6. Polishing plumbing fixtures.
  7. Cleaning mirrors, lighting fixtures, doors, carpets and furniture.
  8. Washing or spot cleaning walls.
  9. Removing stains and debris from floors, carpets and furniture.
  10. Removing, transporting and disposing of trash.
  11. Replenishes paper products, hand soap products and wastebasket liners as needed during routine cleaning procedures.
  12. Maintains housekeeping cart and utility closets in sanitary and orderly condition.
  13. Replenishes cart supplies at end of shift in preparation for next day's use.
  14. Informs supervisor of supply or equipment needs.
  15. Keeps storage areas locked with supplies properly stored according to established procedures.
  16. Stores all germicides, pesticides and other toxic substances clearly labeled and locked away when not in use.
  17. Follows established reporting procedures for the following:
  18. Any damaged or loose fixtures, flooring or tiling requiring replacement or repair.
  19. Any unsafe or malfunctioning equipment.
  20. Any conditions conducive to breeding insects, rodents or other vermin.
  21. Attends required in-services and completes assigned on-line modules.
  22. Performs other duties or special assignments as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor/ Environmental Services Director.


Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Previous institutional housekeeping/cleaning experience preferred.
  2. Ability to understand and follow procedures, work assignments, instructions, warnings and labels.
  3. Adequate strength, endurance and coordination to meet the strenuous physical demands of such responsibilities as dusting, mopping, vacuuming and scrubbing.
  4. Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
  5. Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
