Position Summary: Performs light housekeeping chores for elderly homebound clients.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Change bed linens, wash and iron clients' laundry, and clean clients' apartments.

2. Participate in the scheduling of appointments. Report all problems and issues to the supervisor.

3. Shop for clients, when necessary.

4. Accompany ambulatory clients outside the home, serving as a guide, companion, and aide.

5. Perform a variety of miscellaneous duties as requested such as obtaining household supplies and running errands.

6. Perform other duties as assigned during non-scheduled appointment times.

7. Maintain records of services provided and of the apparent condition of the client.

8. Report all problems encountered to professional staff.

9. Perform other duties as needed or requested.

10. Adhere to the organization’s standards by completing annual mandatory training in a timely manner on topics including – but not limited to – Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA, and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regards to regulatory compliance or good business practices.

11. Supports the organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationships with co-workers.

12. Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance

Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED)minimum; and at least one-year related experience

2. NYS Department of Health certification preferred

3. Excellent verbal and written skills

4. Excellent customer service skills

5. Able to multi-task and work independently with great attention to detail

Working Conditions/Physical Demand:

1. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

2. Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock and exposure to pathogens.

3. Must be able to travel locally by public or private transportation to make home visits.Valid driver’s license, car registration, and insurance as applicable.
