What You Will Do

Job Summary:

Reporting to the EVP Sales, the VP Sales Excellence leads the Sales Excellence (SE) program in the Americas Region, collaborating closely with the global Sales Excellence Network to establish the Imperial Way of Sales Excellence. Key focus areas include Retail Excellence, Key Account Excellence, Value Creation, and Performance Based Culture. Responsibilities involve developing and implementing a multi-year sales excellence strategy aligned with the commercial strategy, fostering a shared sales culture, enhancing sales competencies, and deploying advanced tools and technology. The role requires collaboration with regional SE leads and driving change within the Sales Excellence workstreams to contribute to the company's sustainable commercial success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and embed core principles of the organization's Way of Sales Excellence throughout the region.
  • Develop a multi-year Sales Excellence strategy, collaborating with the Sales Leadership Team and commercial teams to drive sales growth and business plan delivery.
  • Lead and influence stakeholders within the sales function and other commercial functions.
  • Implement Sales Excellence strategies with agreed measures and metrics, addressing critical skill and expertise needs.
  • Optimize talent to execute Sales Excellence strategies.
  • Ensure internal and external best practices are captured and deployed.
  • Establish a sales capability upskill agenda with relevant success metrics.
  • Represent the Americas region within the Sales Excellence Network.
  • Conduct periodic capability assessments to understand strengths, gaps, and priorities.
  • Guide the development of best practices and tools to drive sales excellence.
  • Engage with internal and external experts to incorporate industry-leading sales practices.
  • Establish and lead regular governance forums to track progress and share initiatives.
  • Collaborate with People and Culture colleagues to drive learning and development in sales.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sales excellence initiatives.
  • Manage the Sales Excellence operational budget.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field of study
  • 15+ years of related experience to include but not limited to commercial sales experience and/or capabilities development experience
  • 7+ years direct managerial / supervisory experience
Knowledge of:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
  • Strong understanding of sales strategies, processes, and best practices
  • Changing trends within the external sales excellence function
Skilled in:

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field of study
  • 15+ years of related experience to include but not limited to commercial sales experience and/or capabilities development experience
  • 10+ years direct managerial / supervisory experience

Work Environment and Physical Demand

  • Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light objects (under 10 lbs.).
  • Walks, sits or stands for prolonged periods.
  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills
  • Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.
