Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct production equipment support for all manufacturing areas, carries out hands on investigation and troubleshooting of equipment issues
  • Uses structured problem solving, drives engineering studies using DMAIC methodology and statistical data analysis
  • Designs, improves, and implements production equipment & processes, develops fixtures/jigs for production equipment setup and assembly to improve product quality, increase productivity, and reduce costs
  • Collaborates and communicates with company interdepartmental groups including Regulatory, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Process Engineering to provide documentation and operational support of equipment issues
  • Performs validation IQ/OQ/PQ protocols, test protocols, ensure equipment/processes meet specifications, performance, regulatory, and business requirements
  • Provides training and coaching to technicians on best practices, new and existing procedures
  • Creates and publishes documentation for operations and maintenance procedures

Required Qualifications:
  • Flexibility to work an altered workweek and provide on-site support over weekends
  • Demonstrated experience in machine automation, test methods/standards, processes and equipment maintenance, working knowledge of GMP standards and procedures
  • Demonstrated use of analytical tools and procedures used in Lean Six Sigma such as utilizing the DMAIC methodology for continuous improvement
  • Working knowledge of equipment validation (URS, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ & PQ)
  • Demonstrated engineering support of production high volume automated equipment
  • Strong use of PC/Software including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, statistical tools and Solidworks
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize projects while maintaining timelines
  • Flexibility in a changing environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong equipment development background (Mechanical, Electrical, Software)
  • Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment, demonstrated production engineering support
  • Working knowledge of PLC and HMI code
  • Working knowledge of machine vision for alignment & inspection
  • Experience working with robotics systems
  • Experience in working in clean room environments
  • Experience with equipment design, design validation, new equipment introduction, volume ramp/scale
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills
  • Detail oriented and organized

Functional Description

Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems. Determines design approaches and parameters. Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.

Functional/Business Knowledge

  • Possesses a high level of theoretical knowledge. Ability to deliver technical ideas that have an impact on the objectives. Understands organizational and functional processes and policies aligned to the technical and business goals.

Scope

  • Demonstrates technical proficiency. Works on moderately complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interprets data and draws conclusions regarding results used in presented material.

Judgement

  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 2-5 years related experience or Masters degree and 0-2 years equivalent experience.
